Your finance team may have closed the year, but the statutory accounts still depend on reconciliations, accounting judgements and information from across the business. Accendo helps established companies, subsidiaries and groups prepare financial statements with a defined timetable and responsibilities.
When the year-end process needs more support
You may be approaching a first audit, reporting to an overseas parent, dealing with a new acquisition or finding that management accounts no longer translate easily into the statutory figures. We identify the work required before agreeing the engagement.
What we agree to deliver
- Financial statements under the applicable reporting framework.
- Review of agreed schedules and accounting treatments needed for preparation.
- Identification of outstanding information and significant matters for management to resolve.
- Coordination with your finance team and auditors around the agreed deadline.
Corporation Tax computations and returns, consolidation and technical accounting projects are identified separately in the proposal. You should know which deliverables and entities the fee covers.
Work alongside your existing finance team
We agree who prepares reconciliations, supplies supporting records and approves adjustments. Directors remain responsible for the accounts and accounting decisions. Where Accendo is also the auditor, accounts preparation is assessed against applicable independence requirements before acceptance.
What to bring to the first discussion
Your latest signed accounts, current trial balance, reporting deadline and group structure provide a useful starting point. Tell us about changes in the business, unresolved balances and who currently prepares the accounts. You do not need a completed year-end file before contacting us.
Questions before you appoint
Can you prepare the accounts if another firm audits them?
Yes. We agree preparation responsibilities with management and coordinate the timetable with your auditor. The auditor remains responsible for its independent audit work.
Does accounts preparation include fixing the underlying records?
Not automatically. If reconciliations or records need substantial work, we identify that and agree a separate scope. This service is designed for established organisations, rather than standalone basic bookkeeping.
What affects the fee and timetable?
The reporting framework, number of entities, complexity of transactions, condition of the records and deadline. We assess those factors before proposing a fee and explain how additional work would be agreed.
